1: Analyze Assessment Data:
Based on the health history information, identify the following:
A. Areas for focused assessment (30 points)
Provide a brief overview of those areas of strength and weakness noted from Milestone 1:
Health History.
CF is a 30 year-old female that has a master’s degree in education, a full time job, health care
coverage, strong family support systems in place, involved with her church, received all childhood
immunizations and does not have an extensive health history. However she currently smokes
approximately one (1) pack of cigarettes a day, often eats unhealthy foods, does not exercise,
does not drink enough water on a daily basis and does not seek routine healthcare unless she is
sick.
B. Client’s strengths (30 points)
Expand on areas identified as strengths related to the person's overall health. Support your
conclusions with data from the textbook.
CF has been blessed to be able to pursue and acquire a master’s degree, procure a full time job
with full benefits that includes health insurance for herself as well as her family. In addition to
financial stability she is very involved in her church and had strong familial support. Having a
strong religious affiliation can provide an additional support system and foster a healthy lifestyle
(Jarvis 15-16). Having access to full health care coverage can provide CF with the tools she needs
to further health promotion/prevention practices by covering at least a portion of nutritional
counseling, resources for smoking cessation, access to yearly physicals, immunization boosters (if
needed) and in some cases discounted gym memberships.
